Established in 1881, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, the world’s most important resource. With over 51,000 members, representing the full spectrum of the water community, AWWA is dedicated to providing total water solutions. AWWA has extended its knowledge and experience to assist the water industry globally for the maximum utilization of resources, and effective distribution of clean water.
The global water challenges organizations, professionals, leaders and scientists to unite and share knowledge and expertise. AWWA members hail from over 95 countries and as the largest water association in the world we aim to drive the exchange of knowledge for improving the practice, elevating the standards and advancing the cause of safe and clean water.
Fostering innovation through our services and activities contributes to the improvement of water management worldwide. Our conferences, trainings, workshops, publications, online resources for water professionals provide best practices to the water sector at large. By working with partner agencies and organizations world-wide such as Israel Colorado Innovation Fund, Japan Water Works Association, Korean Water Works Association, PUB Singapore, U.S. Department of Commerce, World Bank and so forth, AWWA wants to provide our international members an avenue to influence and shape the discussion on global water issues.
AWWA has had a long and fruitful relationship with India since 2002. AWWA has had its presence in India since 2015. With the launch of AWWAIndia, the formation of a Strategic Board and the support of members in India, AWWA is able to extend its vision and mission in India. AWWA continues to leverage its decades-old experience in water management to improve public health, protect the environment and strengthen the Indian economy.
